MUST administers works of art, cultural-historical objects and photographs, archival material, historic buildings, sailing vessels, finds from marine archaeology, book collections, a bird ringing database and zoological specimens.

GENERAL INFORMATION ABOUT THE OWNERSHIP OF THE COLLECTIONS
Museum Stavanger AS owns objects acquired from 1 July 2010 onwards, with the exception of loans/deposits accompanied by special written contract-agreements. Objects acquired by the foundations Stavanger Museum, Rogaland Museum of Fine Arts, the Halvdan Hafsten Collection and Utstein Monastery before the museum consolidation in 2010, are still owned by the respective foundations, with the exception of loans/deposits accompanied by special written contract-agreements.
